Thanksgiving is more than a special day of the year when we stop to appreciate our families, lives and the blessing that it is to be forgiven and adopted into God’s eternal family through faith in Jesus. It is all of these things, but at its root Thanksgiving to me is a reminder that Thankfulness is a Biblical quality that should characterize each of our days, work and relationships. Paul writes in Colossians 4:2, “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.”
Think of how different our days would be if they were consistently filled with an attitude of thankfulness towards God, our circumstances and others. Think of how different our short term trips would be if each team member demonstrated thankfulness in even the most stretching of times.
I am truly thankful to the Lord for the many things that He continues to teach me daily; some through His Word, some through my family, friends and church, and some through the privilege of serving you all, if even in just a small way through MissionMakr. Thank you. May you have a truly blessed Thanksgiving and a year characterized by an attitude of thankfulness in all things!
Sincerely, Rick and Diana
