Following my girls to Africa via MissionMakr was a balm to my soul!

This post was written by Rhonda whose two girls went on a mission trip to Africa during the summer of 2011.  She talks about being a MissionSupportr and being able to follow the trip to Africa via MissionMakr.com.

“Lord equip my children, teach them to serve You and may they love You with all of their hearts, minds and souls. Amen.”

This is one of the prayers I have prayed for my children since before they were born. This past year two of my daughters felt led to join our youth group on a missions trip to Kisumu, Kenya.

Take your Church on your next short-term mission trip!

You know what lasting impact a short-term mission trip can have on you and your team.  Wouldn’t it be great if you could invite your whole church on your next short-term trip?

Well, you can … and they can stay up-to-date with what happens every step of the way.  Here’s the best part …

They don’t have to leave the comfort of their kitchen table — or wherever their computer is.

Coming soon! The Voice Mail Widget ... keeps you connected to MissionSupportrs.

In case you haven’t noticed, we here at MissionMakr really like widgets! We think they’re a great tool for building great pages and are a lot of fun to use. For the past few months, we’ve been hard at work in our secret laboratory mixing mysterious glowing chemicals together to create the next great widget and we’re almost finished! Can you guess what it may be? It’s the Voice Mail widget and we think it’s really going to be one of our most powerful widgets!

New Colors Have Arrived!

New colors have arrived!

Drum roll, please…

We’ve just added three new awesome colors for your phases! The new members are Earth, Sky and Desert. Now you can give some of your phases a cool earthy look. 8)

In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, inside every phase you can click on the Do Stuff button and change the color of your phase. You can select from our current colorful library of 15 colors. So in case you don’t really care for the default colors of Launch, GearUP, GO! and Tell, you can easily change them to fit your trip better and make it that much more awesome!

Give some of these colors a try and if you have suggestions for any cool color, let us know. Have fun! :D

GO! – communicate and connect with MissionSupportrs from the field.

GO! helps you connect with MissionSupportrs from the field

We live in an increasingly connected world — even while traveling on the mission field.  Use technology to stay connected with those who pray, financially support, volunteer or otherwise want to be on the front line of missions but can’t be there to experience it firsthand.

Like Launch and GearUP, GO! allows you to drag and drop cool, easy-to-use widgets to build your GO! page.  However, since you’re going to the mission field to do missions and NOT work on a computer, you’ll only need to focus on the Blog, photo and (soon) video widget.

Here’s a suggested way to use GO!

Let’s imagine that you’ve signed up 500 people using the MissionSupportr Sign Up Widget.  Once approved, each MissionSupportr receives an email notification confirming they will be following the mission trip.

Once the trip leaves, MissionSupportrs receive an email notification communicating that the trip has left.  Typically, the trip leader or someone he/she assigns will post an update each day.  Once the blog is updated with text and/or photos, MissionMakr.com sends all MissionSupportrs following the trip an email notification of news!

MissionSupportrs log into MissionMakr.com using their email address and a unique password where they can read the blog, view the photos and watch the video.
